Welcome to PIGS!

Born in Colorado and raised in Vancouver, Shreya completed three years of Biomedical Physiology at SFU before joining the UBC Medical School VFMP Class of 2025. She loves waffles, working out, and riding waves atop her paddleboard! Shreya helped revive the Plastics Interest Group in 2021 to help students make meaningful connections and serve as a platform to challenge misconceptions surrounding plastic surgery. With a passion for service and a firm belief in the power of lending a hand - Shreya works closely with Reconstructing Women International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing critical surgical care to women affected by trauma, violence, and domestic abuse.

 A born-and-raised Kootenay gal, Annika moved to the Okanagan where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Medical & Molecular Biology before joining UBC’s Southern Medical Program Class of 2025. When not lingering around the ORs, Annika can be found on her skis (both alpine and nordic - which she also coaches), at the gym, or in her running shoes trying to escape endless to-do lists! She/her/hers 

Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Drue moved to Kelowna after graduation to complete her B.Sc. in Medical and Molecular Biochemistry at UBCO. Following this she moved to Vancouver to complete her Medical degree in the VFMP program. When not studying you can find Drue long distance running, skiing, or enjoying the hikes around Vancouver.

Born and raised in Taiwan, I moved to Vancouver in grade 10 and completed my B.Sc. in Microbiology & Immunology at UBC. I enjoy admiring creative works at art and fashion museums, as well as exploring different cultures and geographical landscapes through travelling and watching documentaries. I also love creating graphic designs, dancing, and running along the beaches in Vancouver. Excited to be a part of the UBC PIGs team and leading the journal clubs! She/Her/Hers.

Hi my name is Kellan and I have lived my whole life in Vancouver. After I completed a BSc in Biology at UBC, I joined the class of 2026 and have continued to enjoy living in Vancouver. I love the west coast and all it has to offer. But it’s mostly the ocean and water that I love the most. When it’s sunny, catch me outside, fishing, tidepooling, or exploring. Otherwise you can probably find me at the aquarium. He/Him/His.

Raised in Princeton, BC, Parker attended UBC Okanagan completing his bachelor's in Biochemistry: Medical and Molecular Biology and Psychology before starting his medical school journey at the UBC Southern Medical program class of 2027. His hobbies include; skiing, going to the gym, cooking, and hanging out with his dogs.

Raised in Vancouver, B.C., Margit completed her BSc in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at SFU prior to beginning her medical school journey at UBC (C2027). Her hobbies include cycling, going to the gym, and attending various fitness classes. She is looking forward to her second year and making a positive impact with the PIGs team! She/her/hers.

Hello everyone! My name is Zainab Jami and I am an undergraduate student at UBC Vancouver studying Applied Animal Biology. I enjoy playing and coaching a variety of sports, teaching piano and currently work as an Emergency Medical Responder. I am excited to be a part of the Marketing and Fundraising Committees on the Plastics Interest Group!

Raised in the Greater Toronto Area, I completed an Honours BSc in Biology at York University. Now, I am entering my second year as a medical student at UBC! Beyond academics, I love painting/digital art, snowboarding, and gardening. Excited to be a part of the marketing team on the Plastics Interest Group! She/Her/Hers.
